Curaçao Sprint Fest was held at the Stadion Ergilio Hato Stadium (formerly SDK) on April 28, 2024. During this event, almost 150 athletes from The Netherlands, Ukraine, Switzerland, Bonaire, and Curaçao showcased their talents and abilities in a spectacular fashion.
About half of the athletes that competed during the Sprint Fest are professional athletes, that were on the island to prepare themselves for the World Athletics Relays on May 4-5, 2024, in the Bahamas. For many top-performing athletes from more than 40 countries worldwide, the World Athletics Relays is the crucial Olympic qualifying event.
The other half of those partaking in the Sprint Fest were Curaçao’s own young athletes! The 2024 season’s best 8 local youth athletes in several track and field disciplines were chosen to join the visiting professional athletes during the Sprint Fest. Some of the older youth athletes were even able to compete against the professional athletes! Needless to say, the SprintFest was a very energetic, enjoyable and memorable event.
No less than 7 of Cheetah’s 11 young athletes that have been competing this season, were invited to participate in the Sprint Fest. Check out their results below:
