“NOS ATLETISMO”

Curaçao Athletiek Bond Meet II “Nos Atletismo” took place on February 16th & 17th, at Sentro Deportivo Korsou (SDK) in Curaçao.

The Cheetah team were well represented by the following athletes:

• Abigahil (U-20 Women)
• Abraham (U-17 Boys)
• Daniel (U-15 Boys)
• Zoe (U-15 Girls)
• Christopher (U-13 Boys)
• Lishantely (U-13 Girls)
• Ju-An (U-13 Girls)
• Ny-An (U-11 Girls)
• Anhais (U-11 Girls)
• Maya (U-9 Girls)
• Matthew (U-9 Boys)

The team worked super hard at practices leading up to the event, and it reflected in the results, with a total of 4 overall medals and 22 top-3 finishes across all events. Even more important than the successful finishing places, the Cheetah athletes scored a total of 18 Personal Bests during the 2-day event – the surest sign of determination & progress!!!

A few highlights:

Abigahil finished 1st in the shot put event in the U-20 W category.

Abraham finished 1st in the U-17 boys 400m race, while setting a Personal Best.

Daniel placed 3nd overall in the U-15 boys category, while racking up 4 ribbons across his events – highlighted by a 1st place finish in the 1200m.

Zoe achieved a Personal Best in 4 events in which she competed.

Ju-An repeated her 1st place finish in the U-13 girls 800m event, and placed 3rd in the 60m event.

Lishantely also competed in the U-13 girls category, and achieved a Personal Best in the 60 meters race.

Christopher earned a 3rd place ribbon in the U-13 boys high jump event, setting a Personal Best in the process.

Ny-An repeated her 1st place overall finish in U-11 girls, gathering three 1st place ribbons, and one 2nd place ribbon across the events.

Anhais placed 2nd overall in the same U-11 girls category, and earned 2 further ribbons.

Matthew once again placed 2nd overall in the U-9 boys group, having earned a top 3 position in all his 4 events.

Maya finished 1st in the 60m race in the U-9 girls group, and achieved 2 other ribbons across the events.
