EVENT REPORT

The CAB meet “Nos Stima Atletismo” took place on Friday & Saturday, February 21/22, at Sentro Deportivo Korsou (SDK) in Curacao.

The Cheetah team were well represented by the following athletes:

  • Abraham (U-17 Boys)
  • Daniel (U-17 Boys)
  • Zoe (U-17 Girls)
  • Christopher (U-13 Boys)
  • Farexy (U-13 Girls)
  • Ju-an (U-13 Girls)
  • Ny-an (U-13 Girls)
  • Anhaïs (U-13 Girls)
  • Maya (U-11 Girls)
  • Matthew (U-11 Boys)
  • Leyla (U-11 Girls) ***
  • Rishona (U-11 Girls) ***
  • Amir (U-9 Boys) ***
  • Joëden (U-9 Boys) ***

*** The event marked an athletics debut for our 4 youngest athletes, Amir, Joëden, Leyla & Rishona. Big Congratulations to them!!!

The team had a very successful meet, with a total of 20 medals won across all events, and 17 new Personal Bests (PBs)!

Some highlights:

For the second meet running, Abraham won gold medals in both the 200m & 400m races in U-17 Boys. He also added a gold for the long jump – and 2 of his 3 events resulted in PBs!

Daniel earned a silver medal in the U-17 Boys long jump event.

Zoe won a siver and a bronze in the U-17 Girls 100mH and shot put events, respectively – and got PBs in both!

Our U-13 Girls group smashed it, here’s what they accomplished:

  • Ny-an won a gold medal in the combined event, having earned gold in the 800m silver in the long jump, and bronzes in the high jump and 60m. Add to that 3 PBs and you have one amazing performance!
  • Ju-an earned a silver medal in the combined event, with the highlight being the excellent gold medal high jump of 1.29. She also won silver in the 60m & 800m races, and 3 PBs across the events.
  • Anhais fought through an injury to earn a gold medal in the long jump and a bronze in the ball throw, as well as 2 PBs across her events.
  • Farexy won silver in the high jump, and amassed 3 PBs across her events.

Maya won a bronze medal in the U-11 Girls ball throw.

Matthew put in a good performance in the U-11 Boys, earning 2 PBs.

Last but definitely not least, Joëden marked his debut with a rousing gold medal finish in the U-9 Boys 60m race – well done and welcome to the squad!!!
