CAB Season Opener ’26

Cheetah Athletics kicked off the new season at the Season Opener, held Friday 16 – Saturday 17 January. Four athletes represented the club across the sprints, jumps, throws, and combined events:

• Daniël van den Hurk (U17 Boys)
• Farexy Browne (U15 Girls)
• Anhais Ahrendt (U13 Girls)
• Joëden La Cruz (U11 Boys)

Highlights:

• Gold – Farexy Browne, Ball Throw (39.91m)
• Anhais Ahrendt swept silver in four individual events (800m, Ball Throw, High Jump, Long Jump), plus silver in the U13 Girls Combined Events (2217 pts)
• Bronze – Daniël van den Hurk, Long Jump (5.38m, season best)
• Farexy Browne added silver in High Jump and bronze in both the 1000m and U15 Girls Combined Events (2708 pts)
• Silver – Joëden La Cruz, Ball Throw (35.83m)

Season Opener total: 1 gold, 7 silver, 3 bronze — a strong 11-medal start to the year.
